Erwin Fielt is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Information Systems, Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Working at the intersection of business and IT, his research focuses on topics in relation to strategy and innovation such as digital innovation, business models, platform ecosystems and the business value of IT. Erwin’s interest and research on external enablers focus on how digital technologies (e.g., robotics, metaverse, digital twins) impact innovation and entrepreneurship in new and established companies with a focus on digital business models. He is also interested in how digital innovation creates or influences (new) mechanisms of enablement such as generativity. As a researcher and consultant, Erwin has collaborated successfully with many organizations in different sectors such as banking, insurance, government, consumer electronics, manufacturing, telecom, health care, government, and IT. He has published his research in esteemed academic journals and conferences, such as the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information & Management, Electronic Markets, Business and Information Systems Engineering, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, and the International Conference on Information Systems. Erwin has a PhD from the Delft University of Technology (Information systems) and a MSc from the University of Twente in the Netherlands (Industrial engineering and Management).
