Monika Schuhmacher chairs the Department for Technology, Innovation and Start-up Management at Justus Liebig University Giessen since February 2016. Further, she is the director of the start-up center ECM at the university. In the past, Monika Schuhmacher has taught at the University of Mannheim, Mannheim Business School, Copenhagen Business School and the ESSEC Graduate School. Her research focuses besides the enablement of entrepreneurship on technology and innovation management and marketing, open innovation, reverse innovation, business model innovation, and entrepreneurial marketing. Her teaching focus is primarily in the areas of strategic technology and innovation management, innovation marketing, start-up management, marketing management, and global marketing. Her work has been published – besides other outlets - in the International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. Monika is also a consultant in the field of technology management, innovation management and innovation marketing for international companies as well as start-ups.
